Kindle Out of Stock in Major Markets, New Kindle May Launch Soon

The Kindle is missing in almost all major markets around the world and this has led to speculation if Amazon has a new Kindle device for launch sometime soon. Maybe a new Kindle is just days away. A few weeks from now the holiday shopping craze would begin taking shape. A new Kindle launched at this moment would therefore make sense if Amazon is keen to make a huge splash in the market. A new Kindle is always a huge thing and the same during the holiday season would take on a new dimension altogether.

However, as Nathan of The eBook Reader.com reported, the Kindle Kids version continues to be available, even in those markets where the Kindle has gone missing. This is intriguing to say the least. The latest generation Kindle was launched in 2022. The Kindle Paperwhite, in turn, was first launched in 2021. Since Amazon usually launches a new Kindle device in 3 years, a new Kindle Paperwhite seems to be first in line for a replacement. However, given the manner the Kindle has out of stock in the US and other major markets worldwide, many believe a new Kindle device too might be launched in the coming days.

Experts otherwise have already been predicting the launch of at least two new Kindle devices soon. One is going to be the Kindle Paperwhite and the other a Kindle Scribe variant. Both will be sporting color displays this time. As per the information available right now, Amazon will be using E Ink Gallery 3 display which is capable of displaying 50,000 colors. That would be a huge improvement over the Kaleido 3 display which shows only 4000 colors. Almost all color e-readers or e-notes launched in recent times come with the Kaleido 3 panel for the color effect.

Gallery 3 is known to have longer page refresh times which suits it fine for the advertising purposes it was designed for in the first place. Therefore, the main task before Amazon will be to ensure a faster page refresh time for the Gallery 3-enabled Kindle that is touted to launch soon. On the remarkable Paper Pro, that has been reduced to 12 ms, which in itself is quite remarkable. It now remains to be seen if Amazon is able to improve on that further to offer a more fluid user experience with the upcoming next-generation color Kindle devices.
