Amazon Book Sale Deal: Kindle Colorsoft Adds Speed, Color, and Style to Your Reading

Amazon has introduced a fresh new look to its Kindle lineup with the release of the Kindle Colorsoft—now available at a discounted price. Usually sold at $279.99 in the U.S., it’s currently 20% off, bringing the price down to $224. This deal makes it a great choice for anyone thinking about upgrading from an older Kindle or buying their first e-reader.

What makes the Colorsoft stand out is its vibrant color display. Since launching its first Kindle in 2007, Amazon has only used black-and-white e-ink screens—until now. The new color screen is bright, easy on the eyes, and great for both day and night reading.

Amazon also included brand-new screen technology in this model, something no other company has used yet. While there were some minor issues with the earliest units, those have since been resolved, and all current devices are running smoothly. Page turns are noticeably faster too—about 25% quicker than the last Kindle Paperwhite.

The shopping and browsing experience has also improved. You can now view e-book covers, manga art, and audiobook images in full color. While traditional e-books might not feel very different, books with images and PDF files really shine on the new screen.

One more fun feature: for the first time ever, you can highlight text in color. Instead of just gray or black, you can now choose from yellow, pink, orange, or blue on the Colorsoft’s 7-inch screen.
