It runs Android 12 and with Play Store support, you have scores of apps to fall back on when needed. The UI is minimalistic, which is always a nice thing, more so for a device that is designed primarily for e-book reading than anything else. It comes with a dark mode as well which can cut the glare further while saving some more of battery power.
Should the Kindle feel threatened?
The Kindle too offers a 6-inch 300 PPI display which is bright and crisp. However, with Android support, you are never tied to any particular eco-system, something that’s inherent with the Kindle.
